Chef Series Oysters 2019
Calling all oyster lovers of the raw or cooked variety; we’re bringing back our Guest Chef Oyster Series for the second year. Starting June 7th we will launch our second Guest Chef Oyster Series, a curated lineup of seasonally-inspired oysters in a weekly rotating collaboration with a collection of Chicago’s top culinary talent. All profits from the series will be donated directly to Shedd Aquarium to support their conservation efforts, and the series will close out with a wrap party event on August 8th (details below). Building on Portsmith’s already incredible oyster program, guests will experience gourmet concepts at an unbelievable value of $4 per each specialty oyster (available during dinner service only).
Leave the lemon juice and horseradish at home, as this one-of-a-kind menu offers mouthwatering and creatively inventive oyster specials designed by notable chefs around the city. With delicious creations inspired by each restaurant’s unique style of cuisine, this series is helmed by Portsmith’s Executive Chef and Partner Nate Henssler and features an all-star lineup of Chicago’s finest culinary players including Andrew Zimmerman of Sepia , Gustavo Urbina of Katana, Eric Lees of Spiaggia, Ender Oktayuren of Steadfast, Ryan Pfeiffer of Blackbird, Cory Morris of Nacional 27, Giancarlo Valera of Tanta, Gabriel Freeman of Scofflaw and Michael Lanzerotte of Saint Lou’s Assembly.
Running through August, this series is guaranteed to have people enjoying freshly shucked savory delights all summer long. Mark your calendars for their wrap party event on August 8th, which will feature the top 3 selling oysters, drinks by sponsor Ketel, a raffle, shellfish towers, oyster shucking stations, “Sustainable Seafood” hors d’oeuvres, special guests, and more. All profits from this event will be donated to Shedd Aquarium; more details to come!
